From the massive mission church of Mission San Francisco de Assis in Ranchos de Taos, to the smaller adobe chapels like the Santuario de Chimayo devotedly created by Spanish settlers, the churches of New Mexico have literally grown out of the very earth upon which they sit.  They manifest the faith and belief system of the people in the area who built them with there own hands.  These structures have a simple but profound power that speaks to people of all faiths or no faith at all.

My wife and I fell in love with the architecture of the Santuario de Chimayo and I have sculpted its forms many times.  We continue to visit the Santuario where the faith and structure meld together in the small side chapel were the Holy earth is taken by many to cure any and all maladies.

And are always taken with the simple majesty and power of Mission San Estaban de Rey on the awesome and lofty mesa of Acoma Pueblo
